Nashville real estate is as diverse as is the economy and focus of Nashville. Nashville is best known as Music City USA based on the wide variety of music coming from numerous music studios. While Elvis Presley is associated with Memphis, many of his greatest hits were recorded on Music Row in Nashville. Movie companies are beginning to discover the creative genius of many Nashvillians as several major movies are either in the works or completed.
But Nashville is more than Music with two major league sports franchises, The Tennessee Titians and the Nashville Predators, five universities, Vanderbilt, Lipscomb, Belmont, Trevecca and Tennessee State, major national corporations such as Hospital Corporation of America and Nissan. Nashville is also the home of religious activity with publisher Thomas Nelson Publishing, Lifeway Publishing, the headqurters of the Southern Baptist Convention, the National Baptist Foundation and the United Methodist Church. Nashville is also a political hub being the home of former Vice President and Presidential candidate Al Gore and former Senate Majority leader Thomas Frist.
Nashville real estate is equally diverse. Downtown condos, urban apartments, modest homes and mansions are the norm and not the exception in Nashville, Because Nashville is a metropolitan area there are numerous farms dotting the countryside. Unlike some areas, there is still land available for building and developers are taking advantage of the availability.
Perhaps the Williamson County real estate marketplace is the most diverse in Middle Tennessee other than the real estate market in Nashville. Brentwood real estate has long been and continues to be a popular area for many upscale homes. Franklin real estate has gone from being a sleepy rural suburban community to being a major cosmopolitan center with the development of the Cool Springs Mall and the development of the many luxury homes in the Cool Springs area as well as the recent development of luxury townhomes in downtown Franklin, TN. Real estate growth in Williamson County has continued with the emergence of Spring Hill real estate and Nolensville real estate. Fairview real estate in the western part of Williamson County is in a position to be the next major growth area. Williamson County, with these pockets of growth, offers a wide range of homes from the modest home to the luxury home, from the first home to the retirement home.
Middle Tennessee real estate is by no means limited to Williamson County real estate. Spring Hill spans both Williamson County and Maury County. Maury County real estate, has seen a surge of homes building and commercial growth. With the construction of the Saturn auto plant, the Spring Hill estate market exploded to provide homes for the influx of GM auto workers from the upper Mid West. Spring Hill real estate has expanded in the luxury homes market as well as the moderate home market. Currently, Maury County real estate is expanding into Columbia and to the western and southern parts of Maury County. Much of the Maury County farm land and hillsides are beginning to be dotted with top quality subdivisions.
Rutherford County, long the quiet home of Middle Tennessee State University, has been posting exceptional gains. As Nashville real estate has pushed southward, Rutherford County has been the area of choice for many seeking quality homes at reasonable prices. All areas of Rutherford County real estate have been growing, including Murfreesboro real estate, Smyrna real estate and LaVernge real estate. Murfreesboro, Smyrna and LaVergne real estate has been boasted by the development of several major shopping centers along the I-24 corridor between Murfreesboro and Smyrna. Murfreesboro real estate is growing toward the western half of the Rutherford County and is beginning to include some of the smaller towns of Eagleville, College Grove and Arrington. The once sleepy area of Rutherford County is now one of the fastest growing areas of Middle Tennessee.
